Rows of dormant, leafless grapevines on wooden trellises in a field under a bright blue sky with thin, wispy clouds.

The recent warm-up was a welcome break from winter for the vineyard crew. It gave us a taste of looming spring and kicked our spirits back into high gear. Since spring is fast approaching, we are working on the last bit of pruning, trellis repair, and equipment maintenance. As the weather gets more inconsistent, we choose our tasks day to day—if it's too cold for trellis work, we prune; too wet and warm to prune, shop work; warm and nice, tighten wires and repair trellis. While we can feel a bit scattered this time of year, the change of pace is welcome after a few months of mostly just pruning.
